The Cranberries Zombie was released on September 19, 2024 to spooky praise.  I remember being twelve years old and hearing the blistering guitar for the first time.  But what really stuck out to me was the vocal performance of Dolores O’Riordan on this scary protest track.  The lyrics when listened to are a scary reminder to what the attacks of bombs can really do to harm.  When the track was released, some deemed that the loud guitars took away from the song’s overall message.  This type of thinking scares me more than any horror movie that i’ve ever sat through.

A band known more for softer compositions like Linger or Dreams, showed the masses that coming up with a different sound can definitely alter your bands Trajectory.  If you get the opportunity please check out the music video which has O’Riordan in a scary gold paint.  Miley Cyrus did a cover which is pretty spooky.  But with the original making it to number one on the alternative charts, this track is scary good!
