Tales From The The Crypt Premiered With Three Episodes on June 10, 1989 on HBO

Episode 1: The Man Who Was Death
Starring: William Sadler, Gerrit Graham and Roy Brocksmith
Review: Great kickoff to the series. The Cryptkeeper was in top form. In an alternate universe a man lives during a time as a jail executioner, where he feels like he can do anything to help stop criminals as the abolishing of the death penalty. William Sandler plays multiple roles in the Tales from The Crypt Series. He does a great job elevating the story in his first go in the series. the great Walter Hill directs. The twist both Hill and the actors ensue lets you know the type of series that the viewer is in for.

Episode 2: And All Through The House
Starring: Larry Drake, Marshall Bell and Mary Ellen Trainer
Review: Classic Tales From The Crypt episode that most fans or casual viewers have at least heard or even scene as it holds up in the scare department. The Cryptkeeper was dressed for the episode. A local man escapes an institution and happens upon an arguing family at home on Christmas Eve. Larry Drake nails the role as the deranged Santa Clause. The way the story unfolds feels like a full length movie in such a short run time. Directed by legendary director Robert Zemeckis to the very last amazing line. This one never gets old!

Episode 3: Dig That Cat….He’s Real Gone
Starring: Joe Pantoliano and Robert Wuhl
Review: The Cryptkeeper cracking puns to start. Love Pantoliano in just about anything. Knowing that one of my first viewings of his work just happened to be Tales From The Crypts third episode in its season debut. A carnival worker who happens to have a surgery giving him the 9 lives of a cat. Unfortunately he may have forgot how many he’s used. Brilliant direction by Richard Donner in another episode hot out of the gate of the season debut. Watching Pantoliano play a part that he sells to the audience so well can see why is acting is top notch.
