“Horses Snorting Fire” is just one of the sets of spooky lyrics from (Ghost) Riders In the Sky!  I often think of the amazing Blues Brothers version but the for me it’s Cash’s take on the Cowboy classic that sends chills and shivers down my spine.  Cash’s vocal delivery on this song is great for a spooky October night.  The original track even had A Cowboy Legend at the end of the title.  The track appears on Cash’s album Silver which Ghost also lasted 16 weeks on the charts peaking at number 2 in 1979.

In recent years Charley Crocket has released a cover on the Twisters Soundtrack.  But like the rest of the songs on the countdown, This one holds a special place in my heart.  I remember being at a haunted house when I was young and thought this Cash classic it added to the spooky vibes.  Exactly what we’re looking for as a perfect selection for your Halloween playlist.
