To sum it up, it absolutely fucked.
Ghost knows how to put on a show, just ask the multiple folks from WST that I dragged along to see them on the Imperatour and had a great time. There’s fire, tickling of taints, money blown out of cannons, a dead guy they bring back to life who plays the sax, and a promise made to go fuck yourself if you have no one to fuck at home. Your ass will wobble and you might feel a tingle in places you didn’t expect to. Read along and maybe give them a shot.

Impera, Ghost’s fifth studio album and a top ranking album for me, was supported by 130 shows from January 2022 to October 2023-thats a shit ton of shows. I went to 10 of them, they were great, trust me. I’m recapping like this because I’m not trying to convince you to go to a Ghost show here, if you wanted to-my twitter page would have been why you did. Should you not though, you’re missing out on Scooby Doo Chase Music and each band member that looks exactly the same, but it’s a spectacle nonetheless.
You have 666 reasons to not see Ghost, I get it. You’re afraid the singer in the tight pants might make you a little gay, you only listen to like Cattle Decapitation, or you’re a hardcore Christian-I’ve heard it all. If the fire and money cannons aren’t enough to get you to come out, they do get some pretty solid supporting acts. Imperatour had support from Volbeat, Twin Temple, Mastodon, Spiritbox, and Amon Amarth. Hopefully you like one of those bands, if you don’t then we should talk.
The Imperatour was Ghost’s strongest display of how popular they have gotten over the years. Their popularity is most notably from Tiktok where their song Mary on a Cross got big, this brought out a brand new type of fan which is great for their longevity. This tour also featured relics from past tours and shows which was great to see.

Overall, 10 shows in one tour is absolutely something I would do again. My taint was tickled, my ass was wobbled, I saw a lot of fire, and I met a ton of great people. My rule of thumb with concerts is that you should see a band you like as many times live as you can. You will live most of your life with them not touring (unless you’re a Rolling Stones fan) so might as well soak it in. Just go see Ghost when you can, you won’t regret it. Listen to Square Hammer too and let me know what you think.
