The Title Careful With That Axe Eugene is probably one of the scariest thought inducing from a band you would’t expect that title from. Pink Floyd first attempt at recording the track in August 1968 but was uneventful. The process of recording the almost fully instrumental track became frightful before finally releasing the track in December of ’68. There is an audible reverse scream from bassist Roger Waters that is very unnerving if listened to just loud enough in the headphones.
If you do anything this Halloween season please take the time to watch the live version from Live At Pompeii. Very scary stuff. As the band began to play the song more live, they stretched it out to longer jams. The band played the track live for a series of concerts accompanying a ballet in the process. Play it in any Haunted House and you’re sure to scare up some chills.
