The Hookup On Music Presents 31 Horror Tunes For Halloween Day 21: The Cure- Lullaby

Released as a single on April 10th of 1989, The Cure’s Lullaby scares from the first audible instrument.   A song that paints the listener a nightmare which is tough to rid from the mind.  I first heard The Cure’s Friday I’m In Love and couldn’t imagine the depths of frights they could endure.  Lullaby is a perfect example of the bands dark lyrics leaving the listener to wonder what the frights within the bands lyrics are all about.

An amazing music video directed by Tim Pope, director of such classic music videos from The The to the recently reviewed The Stranglers.  But the video itself is scary even if it was left without any audio.  Band leader Robert Smith is in bed looking scary with a spider ready to swallow him whole.  Using words like devour to make the song even the more sinister.  All of this makes it a Halloween video must watch!  Plus add it to your playlist to ensure The Cure for Halloween scares.
