Cubes Fan here; I am back to tell you something you are not going to like. This time, I’m talking about how stupid people are, and that includes you, sadly.
I’m not trying to be mean here…actually…maybe I am. Or maybe I’m just trying to slap your stupid fucking head straight by pointing out how society is making most of us dumb in an Orwellian 1984 doublespeak sort of way.
If you understood that last sentence, congratulations, you are smarter than many out there who wouldn’t be able to find the book 1984 by George Orwell in a library, much less ever take the time to read the thing. But don’t get too cocky, book buddies, because even though you got the reference, you actually fucked it up because the term “doublespeak” isn’t even in the book. Orwell did not create the term doublespeak.
Orwell’s words were “doublethink” and “newspeak,” which became the portmanteau (look it up, dummies) “doublespeak,” which smarties, like myself, are using incorrectly.
That being said, if someone says something loud enough, long enough, and with enough confidence, people start to believe it so doublespeak has now replaced doubletalk, which was the original version of the word.
It is basically a way of saying that someone is purposefully saying stupid shit in order to muddy up what they are actually saying to confuse the idiots out there that will eventually just start to say the dumb fucking thing so much that it actually becomes the thing even though it was never meant to mean that thing, just like happened when people started saying things like “Orwellian 1984 doublespeak” even though he never wrote that.
Do you see where I’m going with this?
That’s right people, the thing you are not going to like is that more than half the world is below average, which if you are into math, that pisses you off because it’s mathematically impossible, but since I am talking about language, fuck math and let’s move on.
You (by you, I mean we because I’m going to try and beat this concept into your dumb fucking brain about how words are being used against you*) are buying into the stupidity every single day without even realizing it. *us
So yeah, it is mathematically impossible for more than half the population to be less than average intelligence, but even smart people can say stupid things and have stupid beliefs because the information they are using was bad info in the first place.
And that brings us to the ARTIFICIAL intelligence.
A.I. means artificial intelligence, as you are all aware. The problem with this is that everyone focuses on the “intelligence” part of the term and not the “artificial” part of the term. You fucking morons think it is intelligent when you should be thinking it is artificial.
Artificial literally means “not real.” It is an adjective describing intelligence in this case. Intelligence is the ability to understand information and use it in new ways and in new or changing situations. So, if you add the adjective “artificial” in front of “intelligence” it negates the word intelligence completely.
Despite this very obvious concept, EVERYONE KEEPS ACTING LIKE A.I. IS ACTUALLY FUCKING SMART! Stop it, you fucking idiots. You are buying into this doublethink bullshit that they are feeding you so that they can make you fucking stupider.
Here’s the thing you need to understand: what people are calling A.I. is actually a thing called a Large Language Model (LLM). LLMs run on very powerful, very fast, computer chips that can search, sort, and categorize amounts of data never before realized. That old joke “I made it to the end of the internet” is actually kind of real for LLMs.
The LLMs can use all of that information to predict the kind of things that humans would say based on mathematical algorithms created by humans with real intelligence. It then feeds that information back to people in ways that look very logical and realistic.
If you are still trying to grasp what I’m saying, let me dumb it down for you: LLMs are just very fast search engines that are programmed to give you your search results as sentences instead of advertisements.
Have you ever used Google? That’s all it is. Have you ever googled something and found that the search results sucked ass? It’s the same fucking thing. The algorithm is just different.
If this is not the first time you have ever been on the internet, you know that the internet is full of bullshit (much like this stupid diatribe against societal norms). This means that when the LLM searches the entirety of the internet for the answer to a question, it is going to spit out information that reflects what the internet tells it.
If the internet is full of bullshit, then the LLM will spit out bullshit. You just believe it because it made a sentence. That’s some seriously stupid shit right there.
It made it a sentence, so now you believe humans can breathe water because water contains oxygen and that’s what humans breathe. That’s also not really true. Nitrogen makes up 78% of the air we breathe, but if you tell people they are breathing nitrogen, they will laugh at you and it won’t be because they are breathing Nitrous Oxide.
See how easy it is to get confused by shit when you are simply taking in words, but you don’t know how those words exist in reality?
LLMs are not giving you facts, it’s predicting what it thinks facts are supposed to be based on the faulty information it is given. It’s just like your stupid fucking parents who watch CNN and think they are liberals despite spouting conservative garbage fed to them by the Conservative Media Bias that reports what they think will make money rather than actual facts.
When your parents tell you stuff, you immediately question that shit, right? You should be doing the same thing with ARTIFICIAL intelligence.
And when you question something, you are actually using intelligence, unlike the LLMs. You are trying to understand how the thing you just saw or heard can fit into the context of the reality that you are living.
When Republicans tell you that they are the party of freedom, but everything they do is Fascist, you can see they are lying, so you don’t tell others that the Republicans believe in freedom. LLMs can’t do that. The GoP has spread this misinformation so widely across the internet that the LLMs pick it up and spit it out as a fact. Based on the numbers, this is what they have predicted will be said about the GoP.
Quick aside: If you got upset that I called out Republicans as the bad guys and said they are Fascists, fuck you. They are Fascists and they are trying to destroy our country. Does that mean I love the Democrats? No. They are stupid fucking cons as well. The only saving grace is that they aren’t as bad as the Republicans. This country, and this world, is far too big for there to only be two choices, but that’s where we are, which is exactly where they want us to be. Fucked.
Back to LLMs and you being a fucking moron.
ARTIFICIAL is not intelligence and LLMs cannot understand that the information is not factual. They can only understand what information has been fed into the machine the most often.
Con men understand this. If they say something loud enough, often enough, and with enough confidence, the rubes will start to believe it. It starts to seep into the very fabric of society. It makes people dumb. It makes you dumb.
Am I saying to question every single bit of information you ever see? Kind of, but not really.
What I’m saying is that you need to use your ACTUAL INTELLIGENCE (this is what the term A.I. should be used for) to be aware that the information you get may not always be accurate. Or, it may change over time. What was accurate in the 1900s may not be accurate in the 2000s. That’s what happens when we learn new things.
That’s not questioning exactly; it’s more like being open to changing your mind based on new information given and then to be able to change your mind again when that information changes.
Whenever someone decides that something they have heard, or learned, or whatever, is somehow infallible, that becomes belief instead of an idea. It’s easy to change ideas, it’s hard to change beliefs.
That’s why religion tells you to believe in their bullshit, but they never tell you to think about their bullshit. If you start thinking about their fairy tales, they lose their power over you. They need you to believe because once you believe, you stop thinking. When you stop thinking, they control you.
As soon as you open yourself up to having your mind changed based on the up to date, empirical evidence, all the systems lose their power over you. It does require some effort, which is why people don’t like to do it, but it is possible.
Will this make you smarter? Maybe not, but you sure as hell won’t be average.
If you take away one thing from this, it is to open your mind and think about things. And STOP SAYING A.I. LIKE IT’S A FUCKING SENTIENT THING!
